Maryland State Department of Education MCAP Report Card
On Tuesday, August 28, the Maryland State Department of Education released the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) results for the 2023-2024 school year.
In Prince George's County, the student proficiency rate across elementary, middle, and high schools was 10.85%, significantly lower than the Maryland statewide average of 24.1%.

Study Group
Group 1 Fifty-three students who participated in the "Soccer Players for Math" analysis.
Group 2 Thirty new students, enrolled in grades three to eight, who are all currently on Level 2.
Each grade level will consist of 5 new students.
Study Group Goal
Group 1 The goal is to achieve a Math Proficiency rate of 65%, which marks an improvement from the present rate of 47.17%.
Group 2 The goal is to achieve a Math Proficiency rate of 60%, which equates to 18 students being tested at grade level.
Math Assessment Program
Purpose
The Math Assessment Program (MAP) aims to support the maintenance and enhancement of test scores for the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP), scheduled for administration in Spring 2025.
Program Description
Students must complete and review the standardized state assessments for New York, Massachusetts, Florida, and Maryland, as well as the Partnership for Assessment of College Readiness (PARCC). The 19-week course will be divided into four sessions.
Session Schedule
Session 1 4 weeks Monday, December 2, 2024 - Saturday, January 4, 2025
Complete the state standardized tests from New York, Massachusetts, Florida, and Maryland for your previous grade level.
Session 2 8 weeks Monday, January 6, - Saturday, March 1, 2025
Complete the PARCC and the standardized test from New York, Massachusetts, and Florida for your current grade
Session 3 4 weeks Monday, March 3. - Saturday, March 29, 2025
Complete and review previous years' Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program test
Session 4 3 weeks Monday, March 31 - Friday, April 18
Review current and previous grade's state test plus take a mock MCAP test. The Math Assessment Program (MAP) will conclude with our 2025 Spring Break Camp from Monday, April 14 to Friday, April, 18
Program Expectations
Math Assessment workbooks should be completed by the end of each week and submitted during our Friday and Saturday sessions at the University of Maryland. Students will receive their corrected workbooks the following week.
Students have the exciting opportunity to engage in our biweekly Zoom classes or to advance through the workbook at their own pace. Choose the option that aligns best with your learning style.

MCAP State Testing Windows Calendar 2024-25
The MCAP testing window opens on Monday, April 7 and closes on Friday, May 30. The anticipated start date for next year's MCAP Math test is Monday, April 21, one week after the students return back to school from Spring Break Camp.
